Aperam South America, a sole integrated producer of stainless and electrical steels in Brazil said that its shipments remained flat at 151,000 tons in the fourth quarter of 2012 due to seasonal slowdown.

In the fourth quarter of last year, Aperam South America’s shipments accounted for 37.7% of Aperam’s total shipments of 400,000 tons.

In the given period of time, the company’s EBITDA fell to US$24 million from US$26 million in a quarter ago.

In 2012, Aperam South America shipped 617,000 tons, falling by 4.6% year on year.

For the prospect, Aperam expected that its South American unit could increase its market share in Brazil in 2013.
