Kia Motors America (KMA) has launched the revamped version of the 2013 Optima Hybrid in the US with enhanced features.

Kia Launches Revamped 2013 Optima Hybrid

The vehicle is equipped with a new electric traction motor that generates an output of 47hp, a hybrid starter generator (HSG) and a 47kW lithium polymer battery.

With the updates, the company claims to have reduced the power generated by the vehicle to 199hp compared to the 206hp delivered by its predecessor, whereas the torque of the vehicle is increased from 195lbft to 235lbft.

The hybrid is made available in two variants including the base model that offers fuel consumption of about 36mpg in city, 40mpg on highway and a combined 38mpg, while the EX model delivers about 35mpg in the city, 39mpg on high-way and 37mpg combined.

Features of the vehicle include increased trunk space, back-up camera3, 8-speaker Infinity audio system4, panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats.

The vehicle comes with 16inch and 17inch alloy wheels for base and EX models respectively, aluminum arms in the front and rear control, tie rod ends, rear knuckles, rear spoiler, front and rear lighting.

In addition, the car has driver and passenger advanced front airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags, side curtain airbags, four-wheel antilock brake system (ABS), vehicle stability management (VSM) and electronic stability control (ESC).
